Education development office (EDO)

 

Education Development Office (EDO) is an academic unit that was started in line with a general mission of the Ilam University of medical sciences and deputy dean education in order to improve and elevate medical education. EDO at the Faculty of Allied Medicine aims at improving the functioning and efficacy of education systems in association with the University's Education Development Center (EDC).

Our Mission

 

This center is responsible for constant educational progress, in addition to expanding the quality of education in order to help the educational system and cultivate experienced and dedicated workforces through the collaboration of academic members and enthusiastic students as well as applying proper methods. These missions are performed in the framework of the programs which are explained below:

  1. To inform the development and facilitate the implementation of learning and teaching-related policies, guidelines, and strategic initiatives at the University
  2. To promote a culture of learning and teaching excellence, grounded in impactful pedagogies, the innovative use of educational technologies, and scholarly approaches to learning and teaching
  3. To build capacity for members of the department involved in teaching or supporting learning and teaching
  4. To champion an evidence-based approach to quality enhancement in learning and teaching
  5. To contribute to sector-wide learning and teaching-related initiatives and exercises

 

Responsibilities

 

1) Engaging and Empowering Academic Staffs to Promote the teaching and learning process

 2) Encourage academic staffs to Use Research and Reason in Education: How Teachers Can Use Scientifically Based Research to Make Curricular & Instructional Decisions

3) Evaluation of the overall performance of faculty members

4) Evaluation conduct in teacher-student supervision

5) Identification of gifted and talented students

6) Plan for the education of gifted/talented students

7) Providing principles and practices of supervision and monitoring of educational research

8) To inform the development and facilitate the implementation of learning and teaching-related policies, guidelines, and strategic initiatives at the University

9) Leading and supervising activities in the clinical skills unit of the department

10) Planning and coordinating of educational festivals, for instance, Shahid Motahari festival

11) Engaging Students in Science Using Project Olympiads
